A date of about 1756 is attributed to this map as Fort William Henry's construction was ordered in 1755 and the fort was destroyed in 1757.

With the manuscript addition in pencil of the pressmark "CXXI/22" and "Lake George" at lower left and a very small "24" at upper right.
